Much to our delight, Domaine du Vieux Lazaret has earned 93 points in the February 2020 Wine Spectator. Following a 92 point score for the 2015 vintage
Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2016
James Molesworth calls it “silky from start to finish” with a “ripe and forward feel” and a “subtle sanguine thread lacing up the finish. Very enticing.” The Quiot family’s been in Chateauneuf-du-Pape since 1748. Through marriage and friendship and a few acquisitions, this property now comprises 38 parcels across Chateauneuf, giving it a great diversity of terroir which adds complexity to the wine. Quiot’s one of the few producers that use all 13 grapes allowed in the appellation. Molesworth recommends drinking Domaine du Vieux Lazaret 2016 now through 2037.
Congratulations Famille Quiot!
Yet another spectacular vintage. With snow falling all around us, there’s no better time to enjoy a top-notch, silky red wine. Get it before the tariffs hit these wines too.
