Muscadet Gets Some Wine & Spirits Love

La Berriere Muscadet Recognized in Wine & Spirits

When Wine Enthusiast interviewed Alex in the fall, they asked what wine myth he wanted to break. Without blinking, he said: “That Muscadet is sweet–it’s not, it’s nothing like Moscato. Muscadet is dry and crisp and fantastic with oysters.” Now, our awesome La Berriere Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieuis Sur Lie is being recognized in the April 2019 issue of Wine & Spirits Magazine as a Best For $12 Or Less wine.

At home, Muscadet is one of our go-to wines — it’s perfectly paired with oysters, but also shrimp and flaky white fish fillets. It’s the perfect wine to bring to a dinner party in spring, and excellent to serve at your Easter or Passover table to friends and family. Be sure to stock up though, any crowd will make this delicious bottle rapidly disappear!

Chateau de la Grange, run by Baudouin Goulaine and his son Victor (see photo), produces La Berriere Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieuis Sur LieThe Loire Valley wine is made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne grapes from vines up to 70 years old. It’s a delightful, crisp white wine Roger Voss calls “gentle” and “refreshing.” Perfect to stock up on for Spring, and ideal for Easter and Passover meals with family and friends. A wine you can recommend with confidence.
