DMS on Shelves in…Wellfleet

While visiting some family on Cape Cod, we decided to meander into the main retail wine shops of Wellfleet, Massachusetts to see what was shaking. We’re always on the lookout for interesting and creative labels and cool shelf-talkers that tell us about new wines.

Boy, were we happy to see so many of our fine French wines represented on these Wellfleet shelves, including Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé, Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge and big ole boxes of Domaine Houchart Côtes de Provence Rosé. And, on top of that, with some beautiful, descriptive shelf-talkers. The Cape was also the first to take a chance with us and offer our Glacé Roséwhich is made to be served over ice.

Some retail shops don’t use shelf-talkers because they think they look clutter-y, or because they love to sell every bottle by hand. But we love a good shelf-talker. They remind us of recommendations at book shops, handwritten by the staff, that help curious consumers make strong choices. We all want to know the staff picks, right?

Props to these Wellfleet retailers, the Wellfleet Marketplace and Wellfleet Spirits Shoppe for selling our fine wines with such awesome shelf-talkers (though it looks like that Lazaret there needs to be updated now that it’s received 92 points from 3 separate pubs 🙂

Who knows where we’ll pop into shops next. Maybe in your neck of the woods?

In the meantime, if you happen upon our wines in your local shops or while out exploring, we’d love to see and post a picture. Email them to [email protected].

As always, thank you for your support of David Milligan Selections.
