Best Sauv Blanc in World!

Gold and Silver medals and world titles: Congrats are in order to Domaine Fournier Père et Fils, which took high honors at this year’s Concours Mondial du Sauvignon, the preeminent global wine competition recognizing the celebrated varietal.  The winery landed two Gold Medals and two Silver Medals, but the real standout was Fournier Pouilly Fume “Grand Fume”, which among all gold-medal Sauvignons was named Best Unoaked Sauvignon Blanc. Formidable!

Also wrangling a Gold Medal was Fournier’s Sancerre “Les Belles Vignes” 2017, continuing a legacy of excellence (its 2016 vintage earned 91 Points from Wine Spectator and its 2015 ranked in Wine Spectator’s Top 100). This wine’s stony palate and long finish make it a coveted favorite.

Wine Enthusiast, also a fan, gave a nod to Fournier’s Sancerre “Cuvee Silex” 2015, distinguishing the steely, ripe wine with citrus notes by awarding it 92 Points. From two small parcels, only 800 cases are produced. *Available this fall, so ask about it!
