Celebrated as one of the oldest wine estates in Mercurey, a coveted appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise, Levert- Barault dates back to the 16 th century. The Picard family bought the property in 1997 and today cultivates 350 acres spread over four estates established in the villages of Montagny, Mercurey, Chassagne- Montrachet and Saint-Aubin, between the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte de Beaune.
Levert-Barault’s wine offerings have been heavily influenced by the five “climats” in Mercurey’s premier crus as well as the preservation and purity of the fruit by exceptional dedication to organic viticultural practices for the whole estate and 75 acres managed biodynamically. A deep respect for the land and the people continue to propel this estate to the forefront of Burgundy’s best wine ambassadors.
